I'm Lawrence Do, an Enrolled Agent, former IRS Revenue Agent, and founder of Do Tax & Advisory.
As an Enrolled Agent, I am federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in all 50 states.
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics and Accounting and began my career with the Internal Revenue Service in 2006. As a Revenue Agent, I conducted field audits of small businesses with assets up to $10 million.
After being promoted, my role shifted into training, compliance strategy and program support. I became a certified classroom instructor, trained Revenue Agents nationwide, and supported the tax accounting software used to compute complex business returns. I worked extensively in case selection and compliance strategy, developing filtering methods to improve audit effectiveness and built internal databases used to monitor and track tax compliance.
I concluded my federal career as a GS-14 Senior Program Analyst in the IRS Office of Promoter Investigations, where I led investigations on some of the nation's most egregious tax preparers and abusive tax promoters.
With two decades at the IRS, I saw firsthand how many individuals and small business owners fell through the cracks because they lacked proper representation, planning, and guidance.
That exerpience is why I founded Do Tax & Advisory.
My goal is simple: provide clear, strategic, and ethical tax guidance so clients can stay compliant, minimize risk, and make informed financial decisions with confidence.
